WHAT IS THE SMATH ENRICHMENT PROGRAM?
In the second year of SMath Tutors, the Enrichment Program was founded with the goal of connecting SMath Tutors from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham with local elementary school students.
Elementary school students are invited to participate in a variety of free, after-school courses, taught in-person at EK Powe Elementary. Each semester-long course immerses students in unconventional subjects through fun activities and engaging lessons!

Get involved with the Enrichment Program in two ways!
1. Become a SMath Tutor! Lead elementary students once a week after school through engaging lessons and activities to explore their favorite subjects! Tutor teams of size 2-5 will have full independence over their lesson plans and materials and walk to EK Powe. Scheduling is dependent on tutor availability. 2. Become an SMath Activities Lead! Lead group activities with the entire SMath Tutors student group! Play fun games, work with a team of high-energy NCSSM students, and be a leader at EK Powe! Leads may be required to have F and/or G block open on available days. |
