We are not able to make a donation, can we still enroll in courses?
Absolutely! We want to support students of all economic backgrounds, which is why we have our financial aid program. For more information, click here or directly register here.
What are the course dates?
Summer 2024 course times will be out soon
How long is a course and meeting session?
Each meeting will be roughly a hour long (with time at the end for additional questions), and each course will consist of 8 meetings held once or twice a week over the span of 8 weeks. Our course schedule will be released soon.
Where will courses be held?
All courses will be held online through Google Meet. Our team will send an email with the zoom link for each class prior to the meeting.
How difficult are these courses?
The courses that we offer range in difficulty, from beginner level courses for middle school students to more advanced level courses for interested middle school students and high school students. Most of these courses will be intro level and their purposes are to develop basic understanding within the students.
How much outside work will be necessary?
Like with every class, there will be outside work to a certain degree. We can only teach so much in a hour. There will be plenty of worksheets and handouts for each class that students can use as a resource for building a solid foundation on the material we cover in each class. The exact amount of time for outside work will vary from class to class though. However, we encourage each student to also do their own research and formulate any questions they have for the teachers in the following class.
What if I'm unsure of taking one of the courses?
Don't worry! The first class for each course will be held for free, so all students can see what courses they are interested in and then decide if they want to take that course or not.
Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, at the expense of the money not touching our hands and going directly to the food bank, we are unable to offer refunds after your donation. These go directly to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, which we have no control over. Thus, we encourage you to first experience each free class (first class for each course) before you make a final payment.
